(1) Where the Director-General on receipt of the surveyor's report referred to in section 256 is satisfied that a Ghanaian passenger ship is in compliance with

(a) the requirements of the Safety Convention as regards construction, lifesaving appliances, radio and direction finders, and

(b) the rules relating to safety of life at sea which are applicable to the ship and to the international voyages which it is to be engaged on, and that it is properly provided with the lights, shapes and means of making signals required by the collisions Regulations, the Director-General shall on the application of the owner, issue the appropriate Passenger Ship Safety Certificate.

(2) A Passenger Ship Safety Certificate may together with any other Safety Certificate required under this Act be contained in one document.
