Unless otherwise determined by the court, a record, copy of a record, an item, affidavit, certificate or other statement under sections 71 and 72 shall not be received in evidence in proceedings before the court unless

(a) the party who intends to produce it has given to the party against whom it is intended to.be produced seven working days’ notice of that intention accompanied with a copy of the record, affidavit, certificate or other statement, and

(b) in the case of an item or article, the party who intends to produce it, has made it available for inspection by the party against whom it is intended to be produced during the' subsequent five working days following a request by that party that it be made available.
