(1) The Bank of Ghana may, after examining a bank's explanation issue a directive based on the explanation to that bank to take the remedial action that the Bank of Ghana may specify and that bank shall comply with the directive.

(2) A bank which fails to comply with a directive under subsection (1), is liable to pay to the Bank of Ghana a fine not exceeding 1000 penalty units.
