(1) A veterinary officer, or an authorized health officer may order the destruction of an animal whether or not the animal is in an infected area if the officer is satisfied that the animal is likely to be an agent in the transmission of a communicable disease.

(2) A veterinary officer, or an authorized health officer may dispose of the carcass of an animal destroyed in the manner specified by the officer.

(3) A claim for compensation for an animal destroyed shall be determined by the Compensation Board.
