In this Chapter, unless the context otherwise requires –

"court" includes a tribunal;

"judicial office" means

(a) the office of a person presiding over a lower court or tribunal howsoever described;

(b) the office of the Judicial Secretary or Registrar of the Superior Courts;

(c) such other offices connected with any court as may be prescribed by constitutional instrument made by the Chief Justice acting in accordance with the advice of the Judicial Council and with the approval of the President; "judicial officer" means the holder of a judicial office; and "supervisory jurisdiction" includes jurisdiction to issue writs or orders in the nature of habeas corpus, certiorari, mandamus, prohibition and quo warranto.
