(1) In order to give effect to a request by the Central Authority of a foreign State, the Minister responsible for the Interior may authorize in writing a person from a foreign State who is a prohibited immigrant under the Immigration Act 2000, (Act 573)

(a) to enter Ghana at a place designated by the Minister responsible for the Interior, or

(b) to remain in a designated place in Ghana for the period specified in the authorization by the Minister responsible for the Interior.

(2) The Minister responsible for the Interior may

(a) vary the terms of an authorization granted, or

(b) extend the period of time during which the person is authorized to remain in the place in Ghana.

(3) Where a person to whom an authorization is granted

(a) is found in a place in Ghana other than the place designated in the authorization, or

(b) is found in any place in Ghana after the expiration of the period of the time specified in the authorization, or

(c) fails to comply with some other condition of the authorization, that person's presence shall for the purposes of the Immigration Act, 2000 (Act 573) be considered to be unauthorized.
