(1) The chairperson and the other members of the Commission shall be appointed by the President in consultation with the Council of State.

(2) A member of the Commission other than the Director shall hold office for four years and may on the expiration of that period be reappointed.

(3) A member nominated by a body as its representative on the Commission shall cease to be a member on the recommendation of the body or if that member ceases to be a member of the body concerned or where the President For stated reasons revokes the appointment of the member by letter addressed to that member.

(4) A member of the Commission other than a member who is a member by

Virtue of the office held may at any time resign from the Commission in writing addressed to the President through the Minister.

(5) The chairperson of the Commission shall notify the President through the

Minister of vacancies that occur in the membership of the Commission.

(6) When the chairperson or other member of the Commission is prevented

by illness or any other cause from performing the functions of that member's office, the President may acting in consultation with the appropriate body appoint another person to perform the functions of the member until the member is able to resume the performance of the duties of the member or the term of the member expires.
