Where an officer exempted under section 31 of this Act or a public servant presently under Cap 30 scheme dies while in service or in the course of duty, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department shall pay to the next-of-kin or designated survivors a gratuity and pension benefit based on the income of the deceased spouse.
