(1) A person who sells, or offers or exposes for sale, any appliance adapted for use as a reflector or tail lamp to be carried on a motor vehicle in accordance with this Act or of any Regulations made under it, not being an appliance which complies with the construction and use requirements applicable to the class of motor vehicles trailer or cycle for which the appliance is adapted, commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding 100 penalty units or to a term of imprisonment not exceeding 6 months or to both.

(2) A person who sells or supplies, offers to sell or supply or exposes for sale or supply, a cycle in contravention of any prohibition imposed by Regulations made under this Act commits an offence, unless the person proves

(a) that it was sold, supplied or offered for export, or

(b) that the person had reasonable cause to believe that it would not be used on a road in Ghana, or would not be so used until it had been put into a condition in which it might lawfully be so used.
