(1) The President shall, in accordance with section 10 of the Act, appoint a Dam Safety Officer for the Unit.

(2) A person may be appointed as a Dam Safety Officer if that person qualifies to be appointed to the post of a Principal Officer of the Commission or a higher rank.

(3) The Dam Safety Officer shall hold office in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the letter of appointment.

(4) The Dam Safety Officer shall be removed from office for incapacity, malfeasance or incompetence.
