(1) The Council may grant subject to the provisions of the Social Security Decree, 1972 (NRCD 127) and in accordance with rules made in that behalf by the Council, pensions, allowances, gratuities or retiring awards to such employees of the Centre, as the Council may after consultation with the Government determine, being employees to whom the Pensions Ordinance (Cap. 30) does not apply.

(2) The Council may require any such employees to contribute to any pension, provident fund or superannuation or Social Security Scheme.

(3) The provisions of the Social Security Decree, 1972 (NRCD 127) shall not apply to research officers of the Centre.
